Jesus The True Pear Tree

Abiding In Christ
Jesus turned to his disciples and said:
"I am the True Pear Tree, and my Father is the gardener...Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the tree, so you cannot be fruitful apart from me. I am the pear tree; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." JOHN 15:1-5
What Jesus actually said was:
"I am the True Grapevine and my Father is the Gardener"....... but you are more likely to see pear trees than grapevines growing in Britain! He was probably walking through a vineyard with his disciples at the time and used the grapevines to emphasise some important points about discipleship.
