Dead & Alive

Wanted: dead and alive!

Dead To Sin, Alive To God  ROMANS 6:1-18, 22-23

In his Letter to the Christians in Rome Paul asks an important question:

Q If God loves me and has forgiven my sins, does that mean I can do whatever I like?

QUESTION: v1  Should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more kindness and forgiveness?
ANSWER:   v2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?

Baptism Is A Picture Of What Happens At Conversion   ROMANS 6:3-5

We died and were buried with Christ in baptism. Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, so now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised just as he was.

Believer being baptised by immersion  Believer rising up out of the water

1. GOING DOWN UNDER THE WATER
is a picture of
burial and dying to our old sinful way of life

2. RISING UP OUT OF THE WATER is a picture of
rising up from the dead to new life in the power
    of the Holy Spirit
who raised Jesus to life

So now we are both  DEAD  and  ALIVE!
